Olajide Williams is co-founder, with hip-hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh, and president of Hip Hop Public Health, an award-winning internationally recognized nonprofit organization that leverages music, art and science for health promotion in communities of color. Williams is vice dean and professor of neurology at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. A health disparities researcher, implementation scientist and community-based behavioral interventionalist, Williams has led many large health-disparity-focused NIH-funded trials. He is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including a National Humanism in Medicine award from the Association of American Medical Colleges, and has been featured on Fast Company Magazine’s 100 Most Creative People in Business list.
